Dr. Laszlo, known internationally as a man who builds bridges between cultures and countries, will discuss his concern about the potential consequences of continuing to live in an environmentally unsustainable way and how we might avoid those consequences. Mikhail Gorbachev says in his foreword, "Read this book. It helps us to understand the current situation of our planet and to find the path we must take. The relationship between man and nature has become more and more complex and strained; the air has become poisoned, the rivers polluted and the forests decimated. Society is beginning to show the symptoms of sickness…The future that confronts us is an open future and all of us can do our bit to decide it.” “The World Future Society National Capital Chapter is honored to have a man who not only thinks about the future of our planet, but acts on its behalf as well,” said NatCapWFS President Limor Schafman. Dr. Laszlo’s organization annually awards world citizens who are dedicated “bridge builders” The Club of Budapest Planetary Consciousness Prize. Later this year, The Club will inaugurate The Life University, a training institute for planetary consciousness, best practices and skills needed to transform the world. “It is important that people realize not only the “What” of their potential, but the “How” and the Wow” of their positive actions in changing the world. It is important that Dr. Laszlo speak in our nation’s capital,” added Ms. Schafman. The Club of Budapest: The Club of Budapest was founded in 1993 by Prof. Dr. Ervin Laszlo.
